Cerenity Dailey (@cerenitydailey) took to the internet to share her side of the story and her outrage at how her four-year-old daughter came home from her dad’s house. Apparently, the dad’s girlfriend had dyed their daughter’s hair purple.
“I’m just bamboozled at this point,” Dailey captions the video. The video has 22 million views.
What did they do to her daughter’s hair?
Dailey explains that her daughter came back with the whole bottom half of her hair dyed purple and that neither the girlfriend nor the dad consulted the mom.
“Today I learned that [my ex’s] girlfriend dyed the entire of my child’s hair underneath purple. If you know my child, you know that she has beautiful red ginger hair, natural. We haven’t even given her a haircut,” Dailey explains. “And I have told her since she was born, you’re not touching your hair until you’re 18 because if you’re smart, you know that that hair does not need to be tampered with.”
She says she’s on TikTok looking for advice about how to proceed with the situation and also how to get the purple out of her daughter’s hair.
In a separate video, Dailey shows how almost more than half of her daughter’s hair was a faded purple.
People are mad on her behalf
People in the comments are mostly really upset.
“Girlfriends do NOT have parenting privileges. PERIOD,” says one comment.
“The gf would have purple eyes,” says another comment.
“SHES 4?!? Death, actual death,” another says.
“Dad allowed it. The problem is with him,” points out another.
“There’s nothing wrong with purple hair. There is a LOT wrong with the girlfriend dying your child’s hair without talking to you,” someone else explains.

Two Sides to Every Story
It turns out, Dailey’s video allegedly did not capture the full story. A video by the commentator influencer Dior Becca shows the dad’s wife explaining that it was not real hair dye, but temporary colored conditioner that washes off. This is vital information that changes the severity of the situation.
Additionally, according to the girlfriend, the dad dyed the hair; the girlfriend just bought the dye. The decision to dye the little girl’s hair came after the little girl seemed to be having a rough day and said dyeing her hair would make her happy.
