A woman from Texas went to Chick-fil-A for a quick, green snack—a kale salad. Then she realized it may have had squirming bugs in it.
In a video that received more than 121,000 views, a content creator who goes by Stadium Food Girl (@stadiumfoodgirl) discussed a recent trip to Chick-fil-A that made her queasy. Specifically, she explained that she found multiple bugs in her kale salad.
‘There’s a Bug Right There’
In her video, Stadium Food Girl said she found a number of bugs inside a salad she purchased from a Fort Worth Chick-fil-A.
“Should I be concerned? But more importantly, will it make me skinny?” the content creator joked.
Then she continued, zooming her camera in on some small, black specks inside her meal.
“OK, so this batch of kale salad was not good,” she said. “There’s a bug right there. There is a very small one right there. I know as I zoom in it gets fuzzy, but you can see the legs. … There is a super small one.”
She pointed out that one of the flecks inside her salad apparently had wings.
“There [are] wings on that one. … I don’t know if that one is obvious—that one, that one. Like, I know that bugs get into salad bags, but there’s, like, a good six, six or seven in here so far that I’ve counted, and I’m not even moving it,” she said.
‘Never Had This Problem With Waffle Fries’
Commenters told the content creator they’d be “throwing up immediately” after eating a few creepy crawlers.
Stadium Food Girl herself responded and confirmed she likely ate a few bugs, saying, “I’m crying,” to one viewer.
Other viewers, however, questioned why the content creator was having greens to begin with.
“Why are y’all still eating lettuce?” a viewer said.
The content creator responded, “I was craving some greens since I had been visiting home [TX] for two weeks and had been eating stadium food and [BBQ every day].”
Is It Safe to Eat Greens Right Now?
Multiple commenters said that with current events, it may feel unsafe to consume anything green at a restaurant or fast food chain. They’re referring to a recent, multi-state outbreak of Cyclospora illness, as well as overall concerns regarding food safety in the United States.
The outbreak, which struck fear into many U.S. consumers’ hearts over the summer, affected consumers across 21 states. In total, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that at least 12,883 people reported getting sick.
Other outbreaks—of E. Coli and Salmonella—have left many Americans unsure of where they should purchase meals, affecting both grocery stores and the chains that purchase products from mass producers.
Outside of the varying recalls that occurred in 2026, many consumers don’t feel like the restaurants and chains they used to trust are cleaning their food products sufficiently.
Commenters on the Stadium Food Girl’s video included Chick-fil-A in the mix, adding that they couldn’t trust the chain or fast food anymore. One person says they found a bug inside a Chick-fil-A salad, for instance. Another customer says they found flies inside a salad purchased from the chain.
As one commenter bluntly put it, “Girl, [CFA] changed their standards … Nothing is high anymore.”
