Dining in a restaurant is already expensive if you go by yourself. For a family of five or six, though, after tax and tip, it can easily get pretty daunting.

To entice more family diners, some restaurants offer family deals where, for a set price, you get enough food to feed everyone.

TikTok creator Kat (@katscraving) started a series on the platform where she reviews family meal deals from different restaurants. One of her most recent reviews covered what Outback Steakhouse offers: a Bloomin’ Bundle that costs around $70 to $75.

What did she think of Outback Steakhouse’s Bloomin’ Bundle?

Kat says they went with the chicken steaks cooked on the grill.

“We went with the chicken option because we are having friends over and probably won’t eat for like another hour, and reheating steak just feels very wrong,” she says. “We chose the option that has six pieces of chicken.”

The bundle came with six chicken breasts, and Kat was happy with the main.

“These are a really good size,” she says. “I feel like one of these is perfect for, like, an adult.”

Because she ordered the six-person option, she could also choose three sides.

The first was fries, which she expected the toddlers to enjoy. The second was mashed potatoes.

She wasn’t thrilled with how it looked.

“This is pretty disappointing,” she says. “It’s not even halfway full.”

Her third side was the seasonal vegetable, which was also underwhelming.

“In the picture, it looks like really good vegetable options,” she says. “I’m kind of disappointed that it’s just broccoli. This feels like a little bit boring.”

The bundle also came with a plentiful family-size salad with croutons, cucumber, onions, and cherry tomatoes.

They also got bread, though a small amount.

“Then it comes with two pieces of their brown bread,” she says. “I don’t know why they only gave us two for six people.”

Once she laid everything out, Kat wasn’t convinced the meal justified the price.

“This is, like, one of the more expensive ones I’ve done, and I’m honestly a little bit disappointed,” she says. “$75 is just a lot of money for, like, the amount of food that we got.”

Did the Outback Steakhouse meal actually feed six people?

In a follow-up video, Kat showed what remained after four adults and two toddlers ate.

There was about half of one chicken breast left, roughly a third of the fries and broccoli, more than half of the mashed potatoes, and about half of the salad.

So technically, the meal did feed the group, though she says her toddlers didn’t eat much.

Kat also compared the bundle with what it would cost to order similar meals individually.

According to her calculation, ordering six individual chicken meals would have cost around $128.

In a third video, Kat even bought groceries to recreate the same dinner at home, where her grocery total came to about $38.

Viewers don’t think it was worth it

Several commenters focused on how little food some of the containers held.

“6 chicken breasts and 4 sides with some bread for $75,” one viewer wrote.

Kat agreed. “RIGHT, THEY ROBBED ME!!” she responded.

Another commenter pointed to the partially filled containers.

“I think it’s weird that the containers are not even full,” they wrote.

Others were surprised to not be seeing one particular item.

“Bloomin bundle deal and they didn’t give you a blooming onion is wild,” one viewer wrote.

“Omg girl YOU’RE SO RIGHT why are they calling it that!?” Kat replied.
