A McDonald’s customer thought she might have hit the jackpot after an employee accidentally gave her twice as many Monopoly game stickers as she was supposed to receive. With four stickers to peel and potentially thousands of dollars on the line, she decided to film the big reveal.
Yuli (@doyulikeme) shows off her large McDonald’s soda cup, which features the fast-food chain’s Monopoly promotion. She explains that the employee had given her two additional game pieces, apparently unaware that her cup already had two attached to it.
“Got some McDonald’s on my way home,” she says. “The employee was like, oh [expletive], you don’t have any stickers on your cup. I’m gonna give you some extra stickers.”
“So he got me two extra stickers, and now that I’ve opened them, I noticed that I do have stickers on my cup,” she says, pointing at the labels. “I do. So we’re gonna open them together and see … if this was a gift from God, or I don’t know, it would be awesome if I win a billion dollars on camera.”
Her expectations are high. With some effort, she peels the first sticker off and shows it to the camera before dismissing it as “[expletive].”
“They’re really stuck up here,” she says, peeling off the second sticker. “Some more [expletive],” declares Yuli with a big disappointed sigh. “I really had hopes.”
She may have had double the chance to win, but it wasn’t enough to turn her McDonald’s stop into a payday. Her video has gotten more than 600,000 views.
How does McDonald’s Monopoly work?
McDonald’s Monopoly is back in the United States in 2026, giving customers a chance to win prizes by collecting game pieces attached to eligible menu items.
The promotion, which kicked off on Oct. 6, takes inspiration from the classic board game, with players collecting property pieces to complete color-coded sets. Completing a qualifying set can unlock cash prizes or instant-win food rewards.
Some prizes are worth more than others, and the rarest property pieces can be especially difficult to find because there are fewer of them. 2026 grand prizes include $1 million in cash, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, free McDonald’s for a year, and more.
Getting four stickers instead of two could lead to an exciting surprise, but players still need to collect the right combinations, and most property pieces alone won’t get you a major prize.
The million-dollar prize isn’t just hiding under a sticker, though. Players have to scan their pieces into the McDonald’s app, where they can redeem prizes and collect properties.
So while Yuli was disappointed by her pieces, it’s impossible to know whether the pieces are total losers unless she scans all four codes into the app—a sentiment echoed by the top comment on her video, which reads, “You’re not gonna win anything unless you play the game.”
What are the odds of winning McDonald’s Monopoly?
Yuli’s chances of winning $1 billion are slim.
According to the official 2026 McDonald’s Monopoly rules, the odds of winning a prize instantly are approximately 1 in 5, with the chain noting that this prize is “mostly food.” Unsurprisingly, the odds get slimmer as the prizes increase in value.
McDonald’s does not list the odds of winning the $1 million cash prize. The company has only confirmed that there’s just one nationwide. But an independent analysis by FastFoodPoints places the odds of winning this grand prize at 1 in 801.6 million—about 2.7 times less likely than winning the Powerball jackpot.
Several viewers in the comments expressed frustration over their McDonald’s Monopoly prizes (or lack thereof).
“I won the opportunity to pay for a Peacock subscription… after 2 months … that is not a prize,” wrote one commenter.
“I keep getting chance ones and never winning anything,” wrote another. And a third didn’t get to play at all, writing, “My large fries had no stickers.”
Which McDonald’s items come with Monopoly stickers?
Not every McDonald’s purchase comes with a chance to play Monopoly. The company’s official list of participating items says the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, McMuffin Sandwiches, Biscuit Sandwiches, and 10 Piece Chicken McNuggets all award prizes, alongside other menu items.
The promotion runs through Nov. 1, 2026, with the deadline to claim prizes set for Nov. 22.
