There’s nothing like a quick drive-thru run with your significant other. Both of you are in sweatpants; you grab your favorite cheat meals for cheap; and neither of you even has to get out of the car. It’s relaxing.

Until it’s not.

For one couple, a Sonic drive-thru nearly made everything go sideways.

‘She Opens My Wallet and First Thing She Sees Is That Right There’

Content creator Danny Wilkerson (@thewilkersonway) shares footage of the aftermath of his wife looking for cash in his wallet. His video has more than 683,000 views.

Wilkerson films himself and his wife sitting in their car as they begin digging into their Sonic orders.

“Alright, we’re sitting right here at Sonic, went through the drive-thru,” Wilkerson says. “Nelly was getting the money out … She opens my wallet, and first thing she sees is that right there.”

Wilkerson’s wife smiles, apparently amused, as she tells him, “You about got knocked out!” Wilkerson shows the camera what the offending discovery is: a spark plug boot protector. His wife had apparently mistaken it for a c*ndom and “felt heat in her chest.”

“It didn’t look like no spark plug protector at first,” the wife says as her husband laughs. “It looked like some kind of other protector.”

Viewers in Wilkerson’s comment section seemed to be enjoying the near miss, with many joking that he “almost didn’t get to taste that Sonic.”

“She still [has a] heated look [on] her face,” one person commented. Another wrote, “My boy you almost got the Sonic coins knocked out of you.”

“I don’t think men realize how fast our minds go from rational to crazy,” one woman said. “God protected you, my friend.”

One particularly witty commenter titled the whole video “First 48: The Last Bite.”

What, Exactly, Is a Spark Plug Boot Protector?

A spark plug boot protector is a packet or tube of dielectric grease.

According to The Drive, dielectric grease is an optional protectant, like car wax, which “could help extend and maintain the life and quality of your vehicle and its parts.” Also called “tune-up grease,” The Drive describes it as a “non-conductive waterproof substance used to protect electrical connections from corrosion and dirt.”

The AutoZone listing for the product that Wilkerson appeared to keep in his wallet describes it as “a special high-temperature formula dielectric silicone for spark plug boots.”

“When applied to spark plug boots and wires, the product prevents boots from sticking to plugs and distributor cap,” AutoZone writes. “It also prevents voltage leakage. Avoid stuck-on boots and prevent arcing.”

Experts caution against overdoing it when applying this grease to your materials. The Drive says “you do not need to squirt huge globs” of it, and SlashGear also warns that too much can hinder electrical connections.
